Parks chief to take job at Corpus Christi (Another successful placement by The Waters Consulting Group, Inc.)

Sally Gavlik, regional park director for the county Parks and Recreation Department, says she will resign to take a similar position with the city of Corpus Christi.

Gavlik will begin her job as Corpus Christi's director of parks and recreation Aug. 9.

She will oversee a department of 405 employees with a budget of $14 million.

The County Commissioners Court is expected to accept Gavlik's resignation Aug. 2 and may appoint an interim director then.
